Dangerous behaviors of pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers are investigated using video cameras and questionnaire surveys to prepare effective regulatory implements for reducing such behavior.
In this section, we examine traffic engineering related to traffic regulations, traffic signal control and managing road safety facilities and equipment that is undertaken to reduce traffic accidents, congestion, pollution and other issues stemming from road transportation.
Research of standard traffic regulations
Research of the effects of road traffic conditions on driving behavior
Factors affecting road conditions such as adverse weather, darkness, and road safety facilities and their consequent influences on traffic behavior are investigated experimentally. Traffic regulations and facilities that match human characteristics are addressed.
