- The Center was established in June 1990 as the Police Communications Research Center for research and development on police communications. In April 2002, it was reorganized into the present form, expanding the scope of its research for information and communications on police activities.
The Center carries out research and development on info-communications network, mobile communications system, info-communications security, and supporting technique for front-line police activities.

- Advanced police mobile communications system
