This logo design incorporates the logo for the Hokkaido Toyako Summit and the logo for the G8 Justice and Home Affairs Ministerial Meeting.

The G8 Justice and Home Affairs Ministerial Meeting logo uses the color blue to conjure up an image of the Earth, and the same earthly blue is used in the English name of the Ministerial Meeting. The gentle peak on the left represents Mount Fuji as seen from Tokyo while the steep angle on the right is Tokyo Tower itself.
